The next ITI Medical & Pharmaceutical Network will be on Saturday 25 September 2021, on the topic of respiratory medicine.
Our speaker Professor David Parr is a Consultant Physician and Honorary Professor of Respiratory Medicine at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire. He graduated in Medical Sciences at Cambridge University and completed his undergraduate medical training at The Royal London Hospital Medical College, London in 1994. His postgraduate specialist training in Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine was obtained in the West Midlands Deanery where he was also a Clinical Research Fellow and Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
As Clinical Director of Cardio-Thoracic Services, he was responsible for leading on all aspects of the clinical services in Respiratory Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Cardiology and Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, including clinical governance, over a seven-year tenure.
He has a very varied clinical practice in Respiratory Medicine and has an active research programme that focuses on quantitative lung imaging, respiratory physiology, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, COPD and interstitial lung disease.
In this presentation, Professor Parr will provide a broad description of respiratory practice, discuss the classification of respiratory disease, and then focus on COPD.
