Spring 2025 Workshop: Clinical Trials Inside and Out

Join us on Friday 27th March at the University Women’s Club in London for a deep-dive into clinical trials with Dr. Pablo Mugüerza.

In Talk 1, Dr Mugüerza will discuss the theoretical and technical aspects of clinical trials, such as their etymology, definition, design, objectives, screening, terminology, understanding of clinical trial reports (especially statistics), the impact of AI and the future of clinical trials. Due to his background as a PI and his extensive knowledge as a translator and teacher of translation, Pablo will share his vast knowledge, always with translation in mind.

Talk 2 will focus on the practical aspects of clinical trials, detailing how the various participants, especially researchers and patients experiencing them. In addition, Pablo will elaborate on his own experience, first as a medical student when he worked on a trial for a treatment for hypertension that is now the standard therapy. He will also talk about his current work for which he is interviewing former trial participants in the post-marketing stage, looking for adverse events. The focus are always real world examples, relating to drugs that we’re aware of, or that are a hot topic.
