Highlights of 2025
MedNet workshops are our core CPD offering, and in 2025 we ran two hybrid meetings as usual.
In spring, we gathered in Cardiff to hear from our own Judy Murray and colleagues with their Orthopaedic Odyssey – lively presentations and props abounded, followed by a really well-attended pub dinner, where we were joined by members of ITI Cymru.
Our autumn workshop took place in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, with the incredible Kathryn Mannix, bestselling author and retired palliative care consultant, who urged us all to plan for what we and close family members wish for as we die. All who were there agreed it was anything but morbid – moving, inspiring and heartfelt.

Mentoring & CPD
We had eight succesful mentoring pairs this year. Many thanks to those mentors who offer their services year on year, and to those who joined us for the first time in 2026. Without your help the mentoring scheme would not be running!
Many of you attended MedTranslate in Mulhouse, France, and October. It was wonderful to meet lots of you, especially those who live outside the UK and are less able to participate in our own in-person events. A number of our members presented at the conference too – Carol Bereuter, Jason Willis-Lee, Anna Sofia Correia and of course, committee members Ulrike Nichols and Mercedes Pacheco. Look out for the next one in 2027!
We saw an increase in demand for bursaries in 2025. We awarded three for attendance at events and one to cover the costs of MedNet mentoring. If you are looking to explore medical translation CPD in 2026, but you need some help with the costs, do get in touch on networkcoordinator@itimedical.co.uk to see if we can support you with a bursary of up to £250. This especially applies to attending MedNet’s own workshops!
